Old Basket Weave Cab

That elusive piece of the overall equation, so many options and so little time to test them all — Celestion, Fane, Eminence, Jensen, JbL, Utah, Ceramic, Alnico, 1x12, 2x12, 4x12, 2x10, 4x10, 1x15, 2x15, 4x15, 1x18 and I'm sure there are even more!

Old Basket Weave Cab

I only have 1 cab but have 4 heads and would like to grab another older cab. A friend of mine picked this up a few months ago and I think it would be a nice fit for one of my vintage 100 watters. I know one of the speakers is a mis match. 3 of the speakers look like early '69. Any thoughts on this cab (I.e. Wiring harness, look correct for 1969 etc?).

This one is going to cost me but I love vintage Marshalls and Basket Weave cabs are few and far between in my neck of the woods.

Cheers!

The T1281's are likely original, CB = March 1969. The T1234 speaker is not original and is actually an 8 ohm speaker. So ideally you will want to swap that for another 15 Ohm speaker such as another T1281 or a T1534.

The wiring is not original, and the white logo on the front is not original.

Personally I would tread carefully with that one. The cab itself looks nice, but be very careful about how much value you are placing on the speakers inside it. Repaired tears and damp marks on the cone are not a good sign. Watch out for corroded glue at the spider supports and coil rub, both of which are very common, around 90% of all speakers out there in my experience. If you are paying more money for them than a chinese greenback, make sure they ARE better than a chinese greenback.
